$83,000-$103,000 range plus Bonus Eligibility of 15%

Position Overview
The Business Unit Leader is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a production line by providing effective, empowered leadership. This role ensures strong communication across departments, compliance with safety and quality standards, and continuous improvement in performance. You will lead team leaders and team members, drive KPIs, and foster a culture of accountability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Production: Assign duties and coordinate activities to maintain plant efficiencies and standards.
- Safety & Quality Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety programs, quality regulations, and training requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement methods to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Team Development: Train and mentor team leaders and supervisors; motivate staff for effective performance.
- Performance Management: Review performance evaluations for accuracy and fairness; recommend promotions or disciplinary actions.
- Operational Excellence: Track KPIs, revise production schedules as needed, and coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and sanitation.
- Communication: Conduct daily GEMBA walks, participate in Tier III meetings, and maintain proactive communication via POKA.
- Audit Participation: Actively engage in Safety, Quality, and 6S audits.
- Administrative Tasks: Process information files and other paperwork as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Food Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of manufacturing management or supervisory experience (food industry preferred).
- Knowledge of GFSI/BRC, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Six Sigma).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools (iPad, OneNote).
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to tight schedules.
- Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
